Cocktail bar with refined pub grub. Classic drinks are paired with New American eats & set in a relaxed, vintage-era glam bar.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Found this place through Yelp and it needs to be ranked higher!! When you drive by it, you’ll miss it. Go around again, yup, that black door. Go in. You’ll thank me later. Some of the most amazing food I’ve had in a LONG time. The bar selection is wonderful and lots to choose from. A quiet and very intimate place for dinner and drinks. Amazing for date night for us. But would be a great place to meet with friends as well.
I’ve been to several “speakeasies”, but this is the first one I thought “this looks suspect”. But in true speakeasy fashion, the slightly suspicious exterior contained a really nice bar within. I need to make one thing clear, I eat vegetables because they’re good for me not because I like them. That being said, I was OBSESSED with the vegetable apps here. The babe farm market vegetables and charred broccolini had no business being that good. Someone was actively trying to include me in conversation to which I took a pass. I can’t eat if I’m talking. The drinks were good and strong. There’s an interesting drink they make in a fish-shaped glass. It wasn’t to my taste, but the others in my party liked it and it seems to be popular. There is parking readily available behind the building.
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is flying in/out of LAX and wants a good meal before/after their flight! Had a great dinner here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We started with the oysters, they were very fresh and delicious. I had the stake frites as my main course. The meat was juicy “melt in your mouth” tender and cooked perfectly, seasoned to perfection as well as some really tasty french fries and salad. My friend had the king salmon which was also cooked to perfection and had a nice tasty garnish on it. We finished our meal with multiple cocktails.
Hidden cocktail bar with a hip vibe and tasty food. Both the vibe, food and drinks have depth to them. You can instantly tell this place is more than just your average bar around LA. Great HH deals too. Had the fried chicken sandwich and it was excellent. Two thin crispy breasts w tasty slaw, sauce and bun.
Their Amaretto sours are done the old way, with eggs. They're smoother and creamier than the ones just made with sour mix and Sprite. Food came out pretty fast. Service was good too, staff are friendly.
We ate at the Manchester on a Tuesday night and the food was fairly good but not large portions and very expensive for what we were served. Seems to be popular with the younger crowd. Extremely limited parking and hard to recognize the restaurant as you enter from the back entrance. Service was good but not exceptional. Recommend if you come here use Uber or Lyft. Really loud, the waiters just dropped the dishes behind the bar so constantly crashing sounds.
Not sure who writes those reviews, maybe owner's relatives and friends but the place is nothing to rave about. Overpriced mediocre drinks, no food selection to mention and quality is certainly lacking as well. Service was quite weird too. For one they asked if we had a reservation. I don't remember making bar reservations ever, and there were only like two people there anyways. Very awkward. The place was extremely quiet, we were whispering the whole time. No music, tvs, nothing. Feels like a doctors office. Not my kind of hangout place. I miss Tompkins Square, that was a super cool bar with great food, drinks and fun crowd. Now we stuck with this cheesy place instead.
Okay so first off, get your Hawaiian shirts ready for Saturdays! (You don't have to haha, but you should!) The Happy hour here is amazing, 3-6pm daily, even weekends! We had their $5 burger and it was magnificent, nice buttery potato bun, perfectly cooked beef and fresh tomato, just delicious. The Japanese BBQ meatballs were also so so so so good, super flavorful and the bonito just brings it to *chef's kiss* $6 beers and $10 cocktails as well, just really nice happy hour. Ask for Caitlin, she is super awesome!
