Italian eatery with old-fashioned decor. Family-friendly chain eatery featuring traditional Italian entrees amid turn-of-the-century decor.
I've enjoyed the Old Spaghetti Factory for years, and this is one of the better stores in the chain. I love how they occasionally take beautiful classic buildings and elevate them, and this particular building is full of character and interest. The food is good if you like spaghetti, realizing that it's not for everyone. The service is always good and frequently excellent. On a recent visit, our server Alexander absolutely exceeded our expectations for professionalism, efficiency, and careful service. He flawlessly handled a complex 6-top with drinks, apps, and split checks. I'll go back as often as I can, when I continue to have experiences like that.
The first night we tried to dine here, we were told that we had to make reservations to avoid a long wait. We figured the food must be good and were excited to visit the next day. We were wrong! It's nasty! We could have visited the Olive Garden for better food and half the price. I ordered the cheese bread as an appetizer and the Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine as my meal. The Fettuccine was horrible; it was dry and the shrimp were overcooked and tasted rubbery. I posted a photo, but don't let it fool you; that Fettuccine looked good but was definitely nasty! The cheese bread was delicious.
We always go here during comic con because they always seat us relatively quickly, the food is always good, and the service is always quick. On a busy weekend like comic con many restaurants can struggle to keep up (I've been to many that take a LONG time) but the Old Spaghetti Factory is always quick with the food. I like that many of the meals come with salad and dessert so you get a whole meal without having to think about it too hard. They also have plenty of wine and beer options.
I’ve been going to this OSF since the 70’s and it’s so wonderful. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is divine. I love the chandeliers and details of the decor. It’s truly in the heart of gaslamp district of downtown and a great place for any occasion and definitely for special ones. This happened to be for my birthday.
The food was decent, service was efficient. The building is really cool and there’s a loft bar/lounge that is probably the most interesting thing about this location. There are fewer options than Olive Garden, seems less fatty and individual portions are also cheaper. I wouldn’t go back here necessarily as don’t think the food is worth a revisit. We were there on a random Saturday afternoon at 3:30 and had to wait 45 minutes for a table for two!
Food was very good, and our wait person was awesome! The Garlic Mizithra and my son's linguine were excellent. Only downside, and it was a big one was dirty utensils-- forks still had food stuck on them ?
Been coming here over 10 years and it's Always a good time. Great for families, kids, large parties. Good sized portions and good food! Don't miss the broccoli with mizithra, only $6.99 for large and it's so good!
Make sure to arrive a little early as they don't take reservations and walk ins have wait. We had our food comped as it took super long for them to bring our dinner but it was delicious. The service was also great!
