Classy hotel with a restaurant & a pool. Modern hotel with an American restaurant, plus an outdoor pool & an exercise room.
Stayed here for work, Clara in the front desk was very helpful and charming. The room was a bit dated but the bed was comfortable. The views of downtown Phoenix was good. There is a $25 charge to your room but if you use it for bike rentals, yoga class on Eighty8 or food, then it’s worth while. I took yoga and my feedback if that if the hotel gong to work with a studio, they should have all the details as how to take it. I had to research if I needed to sign up for it and the yoga studio asked for a “card” that I was supposed to receive from Westin but didn’t, (thankfully the yoga place was accommodating). The friendly staff is really what makes this a good location.
The staff here went above and beyond for me. I need some extra help and 3 different staff members helped me without hesitation. They really made my stay comfortable and the rooms are large and very clean. Great showers and a comfy bed. I review hotels all the time and often reviews are generated from bots or staff but this is a real review.
UPDATE There is some sort of management imbalance at this hotel. It seems everyone is the manager when it comes to directing, however when the result of poor management has severe implications on their reputation— only then suddenly is no manager available. We spent 12 hours waiting on an A/C resolve— missing work, kids missing their activities and things. They refused to move our room or walk us— mind you we are Ambassadors with Marriott. After 12 hours of sitting in a hot room because “no one could enter without us there”, did they finally decide to move us. It is the inhumane treatment of sitting in a room of 80 degrees and we still had to pay for that night. It’s the lack of professionalism and understanding. It’s the poor training in the front end and communication errors. You can’t tell someone to give it 25 minutes to work itself out (by the way the A/C is not controlled by the guest. You have to call the engineers to adjust your temp) and then 12 hours later do maintenance in a room where guest are actively staying. Yes, they brought in ladders, tools and opened the roof, stripped all of our belongings out of the closet to open that hatch. They made our service dog stay in a hot hot hot bathroom. Not to mention I was a female in the room ALONE with the two men they sent in there after sending a person previously. I don’t care what protocol a hotel industry has, additionally I know better because we stay in Marriott hotels often, none of the above was okay or along the lines of protocol. The front desk ladies? Don’t let them fool you. They yelled casually (like it was too easy) at my husband when he tried to reason with them and one of them even said, “no, I’m not gonna put myself in your shoes.” Then walked off laughing with the head engineer, the one who supposedly told them we did in fact need a new room. They service their office politics and policies more than they service their guest. Marriott in general has come so far from customer service and hospitality. However, this was the WORST when it came to a resolute process or upholding any bit of integrity Marriott Brand to offer. Motel 6 does better honestly. I’m so disappointed we have invested such a large sum of money for their hotels to be this way. Especially the Westin. I will most definitely be getting in contact with the General Electric Fund Benefit and all other affiliated entities.
Great service, clean comfortable rooms, and great location. Chad and Christina were awesome at the Jacy and Dakotas restaurant. Without requesting Chad changed the breakfast dish I ordered when he saw me digging out stuff I did not want! Christina too was friendly about it and made the breakfast joyful!
While this was supposed to be a convenient two night stay, we were forced to move 4 times within 12 hours. We never received the double queen room we had booked (and waited for 3 hours after the check in time for any room at all) and instead were forced into a single bed room. We were repeatedly lied to and harassed 4 times within 45 minutes, with hotel staff demanding and rushing us out of our room so they can bring housekeeping. While we were away from the hotel having dinner, despite the “do not disturb” sign and without our consent or knowledge, they entered our hotel room and took all our belongings and placed them in the lobby. When we returned from dinner, at 12:30 AM we were told they decided to move our room again and just took our things. We received no apologies, and were consistently treated with hostile language. The hotel managers and staff did not attempt to reconcile situation, but instead attempted to place the burden on us. This is easily the worst service I have received at any hotel.
Don't forget to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't regret it. Positive: Majority of the staff were wonderful. Except one of the staff threatening us today on 8/23/2022 on a bill that was paid when we checked out Sunday 8/21/2022 Negative: I would never come back to this hotel again. They have charged my credit card 4 times for deposit, which it was 429.00 dollars for two nights. Now mind you I have fully paid for two night before I checked in. Checked Sunday, and still charging my card.
My wife and I stayed a night here during her birthday. The hotel is very nice and the room was larger than most other hotel rooms I've stated in, with all of the modern amenities, fixtures, decor, etc. We stayed on the 14th floor and had a view directly West. Unfortunately, our view consisted of a large construction site, which made for some noise bright and early the next Saturday morning. Overall, we enjoyed the stay, as it was centrally located and easy to walk almost anywhere. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and welcoming. All other hotel staff we interacted with were also immediately helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. If staying in Downtown Phoenix, I will most likely stay here again.
