Posh riverside hotel with rooftop dining. Ultrachic quarters in a choice riverfront hotel with a rooftop restaurant, a spa & an outdoor pool.
Our stay was okay. Some of the staff are really cool and some did not even acknowledge our presence. We stay at hotels for around five days each time we are in SA. My wife and I have stayed at a handful of hotels in San Antonio and we were not that impressed with The Thompson because our room was tiny and DID NOT get cool. They also charged us for two cars at the valet when we never had two cars at once. Overall, the pool and some of the staff are awesome, but we prefer to stay at other hotels simply due to comfort. I will say that the building itself is the best looking building in San Antonio. The architecture is great. Gorgeous views and building.
What a wonderful hotel to stay at, everyone was so nice and helpful Dana and John at front desk checking us in and Silvia checking us out! The room was fantastic and the pool area was so beautiful! Dinner at Landrace Jenna was so helpful in seating us, the Pork Chop, Grilled Caesar salad and Carrot cake was amazing! The Rooftop bar was gorgeous! We even saw the Mayor of San Antonio! Great times a must go to Thompson Hotel! Thank you
First time stay! Very clean property. The decor and rooms are beautiful. I rented a cabana with my husband and hung out with friends! The pool was great. Staff is very attentive and organized. The 24/7 in room dining is excellent! Will be staying again in the future!
While checking in the service was decent at best. The room was on the smaller side but was very nice. I went down to ask questions about the city ( since I'm visiting) and it's like I was bothering their conversation with questions and they stated they already told my wife. There was a basketball team there and they catered to their every need but with us it was more along the lines of we were not as important as them because of how we dressed. valet employees went above and beyond and the service from them deserves 5 stars but the hotel employees is a 1/5 at best. We were going to go to the spa because we had a credit but were informed that they closed earlier than they normally did so we didn't have a chance to enjoy it. I will say that they were fast to act to the 4th floor smelling like it had a gas leak. best part of this hotel is the shower. which seems like a low bar.
Everything about my stay here was phenomenal! The hotel has an attentive staff, great ambience, and beautiful amenities. I really enjoyed the spa pop up event in the lobby, Alma made my first Thompson experience a special one, she was a joy to work with! Can’t wait to be back for a full spa day!
The staff is beyond accommodating, very professional and sweet, anything we needed was swiftly provided for us. The service was impeccable! The room was beautiful, spacious, and sparkling clean- we had a wonderful stay. Thank you Felipe and staff for having us, we will definitely be back soon!
Like staying in an Art Museum. Interesting original art. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The 20th floor views were breathtaking! Had a delightful breakfast at Land Trace ! What I did not like was the mini fridge being stocked with extremely expensive items that we had to pack away until we checked out. We wanted to actually use the fridge for our items.Also. not fond of the shower only room.
This specific Thompson hotel is far over my expectation. It’s located at the north side of the Riverwalk but far away enough from the busy area for privacy. Modern design of the hotel and room interior are at par with many top brands like Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton. Staff at front desk, lobby restaurant and hotel SPA are friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit again.
