Upscale with good service. The food is good but more toward the ordinary, not bursting with flavor. The ravioli had too much sauce but tasted pretty good. Hubby had the noodles and he wasn’t a huge fan. I’d recommend it to those who don’t want spicy and want more of a bland meal as to not upset their stomach. Please don’t take my review the wrong way. We are just two opinions. I fully support this restaurant and their style of cooking.

Best of the best! We absolutely loved this restaurant menu, taste, service and ambience. The plates offered here are absolutely unique and delicious. We loved the octopus dish, it’s full of different textures and flavors plus it is gigantic for a great prize. The mushroom tea was great, a bit sweet but also robust. We asked for more water while it’s midway so we extended the pleasure for the same price lol. The spring rolls were fine, big but nothing special. On the other hand, BEST SHRIMP EVER! It has the texture and taste of the best quality shrimp we have ever had, that really hooked us up.

REALLY good. While I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily Vietnamese cuisine & have more fusion dishes than anything, the Viet dishes they do offer are TASTY!!!! They have great flavors across all dishes (we tried about 14 different dishes.) Their pho has surprising savoriness & depth. If you’re looking to please all kinds of eaters (not just Vegan) this is a great place to go! I’m still thinking about their calamari weeks later!

Very interesting dishes! We ended up going to this restaurant on accident not knowing it was completely vegan. My favorites were the kung pao "chicken" and the clay pot "fish". The clay pot fish was very yummy and the texture was so similar to real fish. The flavors and sauce are infused in the "meats" and I think that's what it made very yummy

It’s a fancy, high end, expensive plant based restaurant. Great for group lunches, dates and business meals. The wait time for food was incredibly long though - we had a group of 8 people and the food for each person took forever — guessing there’s only one chef in the back. The pho was really really good, and so was the chicken sate. The fried tofu was great too. I personally got the chinoise salad with dressing on the side and it was shredded cabbage, with wonton crisp chips, orange pieces, and some form of tofu protein. The protein obviously wasn’t real meat but was suppose to take the place of chicken — it made me feel really bloated afterwards so definitely pace yourself when your eating plant based meat. The salad was decent/okay, overpriced and wasn’t anything special but I would say their signature plates are what you want to get when you come here because those dishes are pretty good!!!

The food is as good as I remember. We ordered the Octopus and the curry rice. It was more food than two could eat but such a good combo together. The sweet crispiness of the mushroom on the Octopus was nice with the creamy curry flavors.

Wonderful place with absolutely amazing vegan food!?? Creative food presentation; great flavor combinations; generous portions; cool ambience. Special thanks to mega friendly staff! Our new favorite vegan place in DTLA.

We honestly thought they served us real shrimp, gosh, the texture is so alike!!!! The sue mai is new on the menu, but makes you think why not all dim sum everywhere is simply vegan and the lemongrass soy fish was crazy real too. Did miss the lemon grass. What a restaurant! We usually don't go for meat or fish replacements, cooking is easier, cheaper and often more delicious without, but trying Au Lac is an experience you shouldn't miss. Also take the dessert, we had the chocolate xtc and it was heavenly, but not heavy at all. All yummyness, definitely recommend!
