Stopped into Urban Farmer for Saturday brunch after securing a reservation earlier in the morning. We had visited and enjoyed the venue previously for dinner and wanted to see if brunch held us as well. To our delight, everything was fantastic. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was great. I got the farm eggs any style with a 6oz flat iron steak substituted for my choice of meat and a house-made English muffin. The steak was seasoned well and very juicy. The eggs and potatoes complemented each other well. My only complaint was the eggs felt more like 1.5 rather than 2, especially comparing it to what my girlfriend got. The English muffin was unlike I’ve ever had, it was buttered and salted giving it a great way to sop up some of the juices from the rest of the dish. They have a brunch burger that uses this as the bun that I am eager to try in the future. My partner got the pancake dish with a side of two scrambled eggs. It was a massive dish that she ended up taking the remaining half she couldn’t finish was extremely delicious. The cranberry and apples added a ton of flavor at just the perfect time of year in October. Looking around at neighboring tables, we concluded that we are definitely adding Urban Farmer to our brunch rotation and will be back for more!
We had a most wonderful dining experience thanks to our waiter Anthony and the exquisite food. My steak, the Eggs Benedict with lobster and avocado was perfect in taste and presentation, and the turmeric/carrot juice was surprisingly tasty as well. The grits were rather grainy though.
My wife and I are here during a trip to Philly and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, as were the drinks. The portions were large and worth the price. I had the eggs Benedict with shaved ham and I enjoyed it greatly. I also got the crispy potatoes, but they were necessary due to the size of the Benedict. My wife had the short rib hash and also enjoyed it. Her only complaint was that it had more mushrooms than short rib.
One of the best steakhouses I’ve ever dined at. Highly recommend their dry aged ribeyes (they are some of the best steaks you can ever have)! The service is unparalleled. The waiters know all the items on the menu by heart so they can give very good recommendations! Would definitely come back again!
I really liked the vibe of this place. It feels like someone’s little house. The menu was nice and short which I prefer. We ordered the steak frites and salmon and both were pretty good. The carrots were harder than I’d expected. The cocktails were phenomenal, specifically the Big Yellow Taxi. Overall pretty good place.
Dined in for dinner as a party of two. Was seated with zero wait. Ordered the 7x Wagyu and the 8oz filet, as well as a few sides. Food was amazing, left both parties very happy, and overall is a great dining experience, especially when looking for good steak. Pricing was extremely fair for products and services rendered. Waitress was very friendly and professional. Will come back the next time I’m in Philly!
Been there for happy hour before, but went for dinner for the first time a month ago with some friends. Friends were already seated when I got there (they chose outdoor seating), so I was able to go immediately to my table when I arrived. The waiter immediately came over to hand me a menu and give me water. Our server was very polite, attentive and helpful. The food and drinks were pretty good. I ended up ordering the chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. Our drinks were also made very well - I ordered a mule, one friend ordered one of the mocktails and another ordered an old fashioned. All in all, good spot that I would go back to again.
I was a little hesitant to dine here after reviewing the menu. I was taking one of my girlfriends out to celebrate her birthday and this was her restaurant of choice. As I studied the menu, I’m thinking none of this songs appetizing to me so what will I eat. I’m happy to report that I enjoyed the Caesar salad (minus the small anchovy on the side-psst there’s anchovies in the dressing but it taste fine). It include 2 maybe 3 larger than usual croutons and shredded cheese on top. But wait let me back up to the delicious soft and warm cornbread. It was so very delicious. I could have went for my own serving of that yummy goodness (we were given just one piece to share between the two of us). Drink: I opted for the faux-jito; a mojito without alcohol. I had two but don’t judge me. LOL! Dinner: I ordered the steak frites medium well. It was served with an herb jus sauce and French fries with a side of ketchup. I enjoyed it. Dessert: I skipped dessert since I had pie with my lunch. SMH but the birthday “girl” ordered the butterscotch sundae. It looked and smelled delicious. I will say the smile on her face while eating and the empty jar it came in said that she enjoyed it. Lol! Staff: they were welcoming at the host station and our server was attentive. Decor: it’s a beautiful space and good for solo diners, couples, friends, family, and there’s even a private room available for a small group.
