Sleek spot for Mexican food & cocktails. Dishes inspired by Oaxaca headline this chic Downtown destination that also serves cocktails & wine.
Good cuisine, great service, nice ambience! The food was good and tasted different. The presentation was very well done! However, a few key things disappointed me. The sauce over the steak was too covering and couldn’t enjoy the steak. Besides, the steak was overcooked, when I asked for a medium rare, and smelled not fresh. The dessert was nice! Interesting! It is an expensive place and I’m not sure if it’s worth it - there are definitely better places for better price and quality. Good for a date tho. The drinks look nice, but the great Margarita ($29) is not worth it.
Phenomenal! Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend you try this place. We ordered the octopus, and that octopus was cooked to perfection. If you’re looking for a good octopus 10 out of 10 recommend. The other food I also ingested that day was absolutely delicious. I cannot wait until my next trip to this restaurant.
Unbelievable nice experience. The food was excellent and the drinks were great. Especially the Xochi-Rita was outstanding good. It was a pleasure to be with you in Houston. The food was very delicious, octopus and the scallops were on point and juicy. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Greetings from Germany.
If you're gluten-free and love Mexican food, this is a great place. I came with a group of friends and we enjoyed the evening very much. The food was good but not the best Mexican I've had. Oddly, for the pricing of this place, the presentation was lacking. For example, the mole tasting, which you would think is a premier dish for them, came disheveled with disposable wooden spoons for each mole. Another example, the steak was solid but nothing special except maybe they poured some mole over it. Although I'm not a dessert person, I would say the chocolate dishes were the best of the whole menu. I am grading on a full 5-star scale and do so with an implicit price-value curve. I am aware that many others on social media may grade on a 3-point (4 being an average score) or 2-point scale (4 being a poor score), but the fact remains that Google gives us a 5-point scale. To me, 4 stars is great, 3 stars is average and 5 stars should be rare - reserved for true excellence or near perfection.
Stopped here on a work and had an amazing experience. April the bartender was very knowledgeable and recommended traditional Mexican dishes. I had the beef cheek mole, the spicy tuna tartar and roasted pork shank. Every dish was presented elegantly and service was very fast. For dessert I had to order the cocoa. The whole dessert is edible with various different chocolate ingredients. It was decadent. Highly recommend.
Holy cow this place was delicious. Everything was incredible. The staff was superb and the ambiance was lovely. The margaritas were fresh and tasted like the ones we had last time we visited Mexico. The pork shank was to die for, tender and delicious, it fell right off the bone. The cacoa dessert is a MUST try. It’s a white chocolate shell with all types of chocolate deliciousness inside. And don’t forget the Mexican coffee that was dreamy with the chocolate dessert. Run, don’t walk to this wonderful restaurant! We WILL be back.
My husband and I loved this place!!! From food to presentation to service it was all PERFECT! The food is just amazing and so different, everyone was so kind and our server Carlos was fantastic! He was kind and knowledgeable and helped us make our date night one to remember. If you go here, make sure to try their signature dessert. It was so yummy!!! Overall we had a fabulous experience and we will definitely come back!
Xochi is the best of the best. Hugo Ortega has built a dining dynasty in Houston and this restaurant is the crown jewel. Each of his other places is unique and excellent, but this is where he food and drink offerings really shine. Everything is creative, delicious, and inspired. Do not miss the chocolate dessert featuring the chocolate cacao pod.
