Yi Pin was delicious! Service was very fast, accommodating, and all of the food was very flavorful. The numbing spice was a real winner for all of us. We especially loved the pork belly appetizer’s sauce! The mix of chili oil, sweetness, and a touch of sour had us all eating it off our chopsticks! I personally LOVED the Spicy Sour Shredded Potatoes, too. They were playing fun music and there were lots of young groups around us, celebrating the Lunar New Year together. It was a really fun and celebratory atmosphere that I enjoyed a lot.
My favorite restaurant in Chinatown in Philly so far. I recommend all we ordered: stir-fried lamb 纸包羊, house special blood and tripe 金牌毛血旺, and Chinese cabbage with garlic 手撕包菜. Perfect mixture of spicy and tasty. All dishes are delicious! It is rare to experience a 100% satisfaction rate. I will come back if I visit Philly again in the future.
This is a delicious authentic Chinese restaurant! The fried duck was great as were the BBQ appetizers. However the spicy garlic cucumbers were amazing! They have karaoke too! I highly recommend it ? ?
This place was a pretty nice experience overall! I was greeted at the door by a nice waitress who seated me. I had ordered the pork belly with garlic sauce, dan dan noodles, mapo tofu with minced pork, and stir fried asparagus lettuce (no picture). The setting and seats were very comfortable as well. I hear that a lot of students attend this place as well, which is why I decided to eat here for myself. The pork belly w/ garlic sauce was very delicious in my opinion. It was my first time trying a Chinese dish like that and I am impressed! The consistency of the sauce to the wrapped pork belly with vegetables was great! I would like to learn how they made that since it was so delicious! Overall there was nothing wrong with it and I would give it a solid 8.5/10. The dan dan noodles were a lot which was really good. I loved the portion of how much they gave me on this. There was not too much sauce and the noodles were the right size and taste as well. These dan dan noodles are above the average kind of dan dan noodles. It was a solid 7/10. The Mapo Tofu with minced pork was unlike any other restaurant in Chinatown I believe. The portion was pretty big for the mapo tofu. It was soft and the sauce was so good! I loved it! Overall it was a good 8/10. The stir fried fried asparagus was not really my favorite however. It was average but I feel like there should have been more seasoning to it. I sort of kind of got bored of it half way in. The portion size for that was big as well. A solid 5/10.
Prefect food and service! Place was open until midnight so was great for late night snacks. We enjoyed the bbq and authentic Chinese food there and also the karaoke studio was super fun. It was great to be among these passionate&vigorous young people that sang the classic love songs all night. My girlfriend contributed her singing and was very excited and happy. The experience was wonderful and hope their business a true success!
Completely different, good, experience with this restaurant compared to others in Philadelphia Chinatown. Never seen Ma La Pot in other places. Smoked Pork Belly is a bit salty, may be it s smoked meat.
Great food and a great ambience. The restaurant was very clean and waiter was professional. The food ordered were not too spicy at all, probably less than buffalo, so don't worry too much. Hot tea definitely helped warm us up in the cold and windy day we were there.
Yi Pin Restaurant in the location where Joy Tsin Lau use to be Chinatown. This place has a great vibe with delicious Sichuan(Szechuan) food. I had the dry pepper chicken, dry pot fish and for appetizer pork belly with garlic sauce. Prices are fair and food is amazing.
