Hello, everyone! February has been treating me well — how are you doing? Last week I set aside a day to refresh my kitchen. I was tired of clutter and of everyday items being hard to find, so I decluttered, removed things I rarely use, and reorganized. It felt like a fresh start. I don’t have before photos, but picture pots and plates piled up, lids and containers shoved behind other items, and useful things buried under less-used items. Sound familiar?
The first area I tackled was the narrow gap between the shelves and the wall overhead. That little space had become a catch-all for random items, so I bought a few baskets from Dollar Tree and grouped similar things together, labeling each basket for quick identification.

I also bought clear canisters to store baking supplies and rice. Labeling is essential so I don’t confuse baking powder with baking soda, for example. My current labels are slightly large, so I’ll probably replace them with smaller ones later for a neater look.

Under the sink was next. Previously I had pots stored there, but stacked cookware made retrieval clumsy and stressful. I moved the cleaning supplies beneath the sink, which keeps soaps, all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, carpet cleaner, windshield fluid, brushes, and sponges organized and easy to reach.

The pots and pans now have a dedicated, uncluttered space under the countertop where they’re easy to access without disrupting other items.

Because my girls frequently ask for water or other drinks throughout the day, I decided to make their cups and straws easily reachable. I separated the older girls’ cups into one bin and the baby’s into another so they can serve themselves without needing help every time.

On one corner of the wall I put up boards to display the school calendars and reminders. I also pin my oldest daughter’s school artwork there so she can see and be proud of her creations — it’s motivating for her and adds a personal touch to the kitchen.

I organized spices, seasonings, and baking ingredients into drawer organizers. Keeping these items separated prevents small jars from getting lost in the back and makes it much faster to find what I need when cooking or baking.

I also hung my measuring cups on a small rack so they’re visible and easy to grab. They look tidy and cute on display, which is a little everyday joy.

Using bins, baskets, jars, and racks has made kitchen life much simpler. Most of the storage items I used for this makeover came from Dollar Tree, which helped keep costs low. My photos aren’t professional — I’m still learning about lighting and composition — but I hope they’re helpful and inspire you to try a small reorganization of your own.
On another note, I recorded my first cooking video over the weekend. I’m excited to edit and publish it soon. When it goes live, I’d be grateful if you’d watch and share it with someone who might enjoy it. Your support helps this little ministry grow.
This morning’s devotional reminded me to seek God more than I chase goals. That’s my focus for the week and beyond — prioritizing faith and presence over lists and accomplishments.
Love you all!
