Winter has arrived.
The ground is covered in snow, and life has slowed to a gentle pace.

Days are shorter and nights stretch longer. The air is sharp and cold, and warmth feels scarce.
Blankets, hearty soups and steaming cups of tea are what we reach for now.
I took a brief walk in my backyard to take it all in.

All the deciduous trees have shed their leaves, leaving bare branches etched against the winter sky.

Only the pines stand unchanged, their green needles a steady presence through the season.

Winter is here. I didn’t want it to come, but it has, and it will remain for a few months. That means finding ways to make the season meaningful.
Turn time indoors into quality time. Embrace slower rhythms, nurture relationships, and cultivate moments of rest and reflection. Remember that no winter lasts forever; spring is on its way.
We couldn’t make it to church yesterday because the snowfall was heavy and driving would have been unsafe. Still, I want to share a short thought with you: hold loosely to what is temporary. Let your life carry eternal value.
Death is inevitable—we all face it one day. Consider where your heart is set for eternity. Spend your days building treasures that last: deepen your relationship with God, pursue the purpose He has for you, and reach out to others with compassion and truth. Loosely hold all that is not eternal.
As the year draws to a close, take comfort in this promise: He who watches over you never slumbers or sleeps (Psalm 121:4). You are held and cared for.
I love you ♥
